• Normal Sudoku rules: Place the digits 1-9 in each row, column and box, without repeats.
• Sandwich Sums: A clue outside the grid gives the sum of the digits sandwiched between the digits 1 and 9 in its row/column.
• X-Sums: A clue outside the grid gives the sum of the first X digits in its row/column, where X is the digit placed in the cell closest to the clue.
• Ambiguity: For clues with the same value, two are Sandwiches, one is an X-Sum.
