Rules

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Shade the entire grid with two colours, so that each colour forms a single connected area and no 2x2 area is entirely one colour.
  • A digit in a cell with an arrow equals the sum of the first N digits of the other colour in the arrow's direction, where N is first digit of the other colour in that direction (the arrow must point to at least N cells of the other colour). Two arrows in the same cell are treated as independent clues.

A little intimidating at first, but surprisingly fun! Definitely glad I'm more familiar with YY by now, for help coloring the borders.

Very nice! As usual there is some meta stuff to be discovered and then you find the perfect setup for a puzzle with this original ruleset. Thanks

Thank you very much for creating and sharing another wonderful YY-hybrid with a brilliant break-in.

Very cool, I like that there are a lot of slightly different deductions to make, so each new insight gets you some progress, but doesn't suddenly solve the whole thing.

Excellent, thank you!

Pulling the X-sum inside the grid like this was a lovely way of decreasing the complexity, but including diagonal sums and the ambiguity of the shading pushed that complexity right back up to the sweet spot. I'm glad you're back to setting after that break, it's always a treat!

Fantastic break-in and once you figure out the basics it flows nicely from there. Thanks!
