That's really cool! It took me a bit to figure out where to start, since the heyawake rules were a little confusing to me, particularly as I'm more used to how rules tend to be explained on LMD. Once I reframed them as:
* A shaded cell may not be orthogonally connected to another shaded cell (diagonal is fine)
* A horizontal or vertical line of unshaded cells may not cross more than two room boundaries
* All unshaded cells are orthogonally connected to form one region
it really helped me internalize the rules better.

Good puzz, some neat deductions in here (especially the opening logic), the hybrid ruleset works well.
