Thermo Pseudoku

Normal Sudoku rules (mostly) apply.
Fill the grid with the digits 1-9 (and 0) so that (almost) no digit repeats in any row, column or box.
(Each unique digit may appear twice in exactly one row, column OR box. No row, column, or box may contain more than one repeated digit.)
Digits along a thermometer must increase (or stay the same) from the bulb end.

Wow! I got there in the end but it took me well over 4 hours. The break in was relatively easy and there was some new nice logic to be learned but trying to keep track of everything when up to 2 digits could be missing from each box/row/column was, for me anyway, very difficult.

This was my first pseudoku, and it was quite confusing at first. Hard to keep track of all possibilities, despite knowing where my attention needed to go. I'm guessing it's like everything else: the more one does, the better one gets. For now, I rated this as 4*, although I probably struggled more like a 5*, but I'll blame it on me rather than on the puzzle. Interesting constraint, I'll probably seek to do others at some point soon. Thanks!
@Paquet Voleur - Thanks for sticking with it to the end! I was torn between 3 and 4 stars for this one, given how many digits can be placed early on. It's possible I erred on the easy side. The original Pseudoku and Whisper variant are probably the more "approachable" puzzles to help you get a handle on the variation to the standard logic, so if you were wanting to try another one I'd start there

I found this quite challenging (4-5*), even having previously used the "almost" rule set. Thanks for setting :-)
