Half the Burn, Twice the Light

(Eingestellt am 19. Januar 2025, 09:43 Uhr von Allagem)

I wanted to set a puzzle with Halver cells, which is a pretty rare constraint. I thought Thermometers could make some interesting combos with Halvers, and after playing a bit to learn how these two constraints interact, I was able to create this weird and wonderful layout. As long as you ask the right questions, this puzzle shouldn't be too difficult to navigate, but there are a couple of false logic paths that ultimately lead nowhere. If you find yourself getting bogged down, take a step back and look for a new angle of attack. ;)

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy Half the Burn, Twice the Light!

Solve on SudokuPad

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Thermometers: Values along a thermometer strictly increase from bulb to tip.

Halvers: There are 9 Halver cells in the grid - one in each row, column, and box. For the purposes of thermometers, digits in a Halver cell count as half of their value. No two Halver cells contain the same digit.

Lösungscode: Row 1 (Ignore the effects of Halvers for the solution code, just type the 9 digits)

As others have said, need to be slow and careful with the solve, and enjoyment will follow. Lovely puzzle.

Awesome!!! Not too hard but deceptive if you don't approach it the right way. Really well built around a key insight and evolving theme. Great construction
