(Eingestellt am 30. Dezember 2024, 19:44 Uhr von NurglesGift)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Cells connected by an X must sum to 10.

Cells connected by an V must sum to 5.

All X's and V's are given.

There is a 3x3 magic square somewhere in the grid.

(A magic square is a 3x3 square with the digits 1-9 where all rows, columns and diagonals have the same sum)

Solve Time: 30:24

I rated this 3/5 difficulty.

Very much enjoyed this addition to the series.

This one felt easier than the previous (XV*Magic 4), but was still a very nice puzzle with a fun solve path. This one didn't seem to require an early deduction of the magic square location (I didn't thoroughly attempt a full coloring before placing the square), but I did use it earlier in the solve this time around because I focused on placing it from the get-go.

Placing the square was definitely easier than the previous puzzle, but still used some beautiful logic to deduce it's location. I think it only took me ~5 minutes to place the square, and from there I modified my coloring strategy accordingly. I am finally getting familiar with these puzzles and the tricks I have learned have been very cool!

I have thus far enjoyed this ruleset a lot and the whole idea of using a magic square to disambiguate a full XV puzzle is just such a nice combo and the two rules just work together so nicely.

Love this series, glad you published another before the new year :) Thanks for sharing!

NurglesGift: you are quickly becoming one of the best XV variant setters, and definitely one of my favorites

Absolutely stunning from start to finish; From figuring out the location of the 3x3 magic square to the shift from a uvtu/ybj cnevgl chmmyr into a rira/bqq cnevgl chmmyr. Kudos.
