Rules:
1. All digits 1-9 must appear exactly once in each row, column, and 3x3 bold outlined region (Sudoku)
2. Cells on a blue line within the same region sum to exactly one more or one less the sum of the cells on that same line in the next region the line crosses into. (Knapp Daneben Region Sum Lines)
3. For example, if R2C1 and R3C1 sum to 10, then R4C1 + R5C1 + R6C1 wouldsum to either 9 or 11.
My previous puzzle had some comments expressing negative opinions about 18 digit solution codes versus their request for a shorter one. I have been posting here for four years with 18 digit codes for all of my sudokus, and the sudden change seems both sudden to me and a bit arbitrary. Back in the old days, people printed off puzzles and did them by hand, and even now one can copy and paste with sudokupad links. I will try out a 9 digit code for this puzzle, but I welcome comments about whether or not I should go this route in the future. I personally see nothing wrong with an 18 digit code and find it odd that someone spending 30 minutes on a puzzle would abhor typing in 9 more digits, but perhaps you might have insight that could further illuminate your position on it. Either way, I hope you enjoy this puzzle.
On a final note, I know that the percentage of sudokus versus non suduokus has drastically changed in the last five years and I am part of that problem. Starting January and moving forward, I will strive to publish non sudoku puzzles here to do a small part in keeping this database logically diverse and interesting. I may still post some sudokus, but I think I'll make a concerted effort into branching out with different genres moving forward

Beautiful puzzle, thank you! I don't see anything wrong with 18-digit codes, and I really struggle to see how some people would decide to let that alone affect the puzzle's rating. As long as it's clear what I'm supposed to type in, I don't really care.

I don't mind 18 digits

I also ask always for 18 digits. After solving a puzzle in (minimal) a few minutes, but more often much longer, even up to hours, I don't see any problem in typing in 9 extra digits, which would cost only a few seconds.

+1 to more non-sudoku puzzles, -1 to complaining about medium-length solution codes.

18 is just fine. :-) I don't see how this could be a problem for a serious solver.
