Winter

(Eingestellt am 15. Dezember 2024, 00:06 Uhr von Basil)

I love experimenting with grids, so when it occurred to me the grid could be made larger, I immediately did so. And then I made a larger grid. And an even larger one. And maybe I had gone a bit too far. That's when I decided to take it one step further and turn it into a fog of war puzzle by manually editing the json to use the new remote clear.

I love the way it came out. The second part still is a bit more difficult than the first. But the fog really helps to show what's going on. Hopefully you'll see and it will be smooth or **shrugs** only a bit bumpy ride. Anyway, I hope you'll have as much fun with it as I did.

  • normal Sudoku: Put the digits 1-9 once in each row, column and box.
  • Part of the grid is covered with fog. As correct digits are placed, the fog will clear. No guessing required.
  • Digits on the tip of an arrow sum to the number in the circle or Pill. Pills are read in normal reading order.i.e. from left to right and top to bottom. Arrows have different colors to better distinguish them.
  • Digits in a killer cage do not repeat and sum to the given total.

To clarify, this is what the uncovered grid looks like:
The middle part is void of digits and/or sudoku clues.

Lösungscode: Row 13. (That's the first row from the top that starts in column 1 and ends in column 9. It's also the sixth row from the bottom.)

One of the most creative and fun puzzles I’ve played! The only slight issue I had was I spent 10 minutes trying to figure if I was able to make the assumption that the purple tip in row 12 is connected to the purple bulb in row 16 when the fog is covering two squares of the arrow. I ended up making the assumption, but I’m not sure if that was intended. (It says arrows are colored different for convenience, so I think I did it right) Either way, it was an amazing puzzle!

Wow, that was quite a winter adventure! The break in was tricky, especially since I've never seen a grid like this before. I suggest adding a rule that arrows never leave the marked Sudoku boxes, which I think is necessary for the beginning.

After that it was smooth sledding, with just one rather bumpy section in the second half. Thanks for the puzzle!

Thanks. I've added a picture instead. That should clear the ambiguity.
