On the 13th of december, this puzzle was published under the name of SVS #403, but SudokuExplorer pointed out that this type already appeared earlier as SVS #299. Since that puzzle has a completely different name, I didn't notice this. SVS contains each variant only once, so I renamed the puzzle.
Lösungscode: Zeile 5, gefolgt von Spalte 2.

I rated this 2/5 difficulty.
Another great puzzle! Cool constraint with very nice chains of logic that bounce around the grid. I enjoyed how this constraint led me all across the board figuring out which possibilities create contradictions, and then seeing how these deductions created sudoku patterns that would resolve other clues.
Admittedly, this puzzle took me longer than I expected it to, and was on the 'harder' end of a 2/5 difficulty for me. I think the part I found challenging was figuring out how to pencilmark the x-sums, and, because I didn't have a great system, it led me to overlook some basic sudoku tricks that I should have spotted. Up until about 50-60% of my solve I resorted to coloring sudoku digits so that I could use pencilmarks to keep track of x-sum possibilities, and, in hindsight, this made the puzzle harder than it should have been. I think this overcomplicated the grid and I kept missing basic wings, hidden/naked cells, etc. that I would have otherwise spotted intuitively.
That being said, it was a fun solve and should be fairly approachable for a beginner-intermediate solver. I thought the setting was very well done and I liked how the solve path was seemingly 'unpredictable'/dynamic as the eliminations weren't confined to any one area of the puzzle.
Thanks for creating and sharing this puzzle!

Also, If anyone has suggestions on how to pencilmark this sort of puzzle, I'd love to hear how you do it!

Renamed the puzzle and added a few lines with the reason why.
Being over 50 comes with memory loss now and then. :)

Lovely puzzle! So many nuggets of logic from so few clues :-)
The rules seemed familiar, and yes, SVS#299 rings a bell.

Thanks for pointing that out, although I wasn't happy to read it. I renamed the puzzle. Today a new #403 will appear. :)

Nice - I hope you make a positional x-Products soon :-) I made one with sandwich a while back - and it's definitely a rich enough ruleset to go by itself.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I have to take a look at your creations anyway, since there must be a whole bunch of good ideas in your list that I am not aware of at the moment. (And I am already busy with #420 and #421.) :)

Great puzzle. To me this was a new constraint. It felt at least 2 star to me. Great fun thx.

I think this is closer to 1*. Interesting interactions with the clues on the same row/column.
