Sudoku-ish: Rows, columns and regions can have no more than one each of the digits 1-9.
Arrow: The value of a cell with an arrow counts the number of unique regions seen in the direction indicated by the arrow, including its own region. Multiple arrow cells count to the same number of unique regions in each direction, i.e. they are not cumulative.
Square: The value of a cell with a square counts the number of unique regions seen in the surrounding 3x3 area, including its own region.
Outside Clues: Values outside the grid are the sum of the missing digits from that respective column.
NOTES
This was set for Scojo's Setting Saturday Prompt, this week chosen by Ratfinkz: Non-Rectangular, where the grid cannot be rectangular.
Lösungscode: Row 4, left to right with dashes to indicate region borders.

What a puzzle! I had to backtrack a couple times when I'd broken it, relying on the solution checker to identify when I had made a wrong leap of logic. I still feel like finishing was a real accomplishment!

That was difficult, but exceptionally beautiful. The diagonal geometries were very interesting to tinker with, and then the sudoku at the end was a gorgeous finale. Bravo!

Very nice! A steady flow of logical deductions. I especially enjoyed the effect of the unique grid on the chaotic regions.
