Foggy Logic

I've just created my first fog of war puzzle. It's really easy, but it's fun.
- normal Sudoku: Put the digits 1-9 once in each row, column and box.
- Part of the grid is covered with fog. As correct digits are placed, the fog will clear from cells surrounding the digit. No guessing required.
- On an orange dutch whispers line adjacent digits differ by at least 4.
- On agreengerman whispers line adjacent digits differ by at least 5.
- Digits on apurplerenban line form a set of distinct consecutive digits.
- On a slow thermometer digits increase or stay the same from bulb to tip.
- Digits separated by a white kropki dot are consecutive.
- Digits in a killer cage sum to the given total.
- On a thermometer digits increase from bulb to tip. Just to be clear: the visible cell contains both a thermometer and a dutch whispers line.

I think I solved too late to see the issue and in my case it was quite smooth. and fun!

At a certain point in the puzzle I made an incorrect conclusion. Added a clue in the puzzle to correct this.

seriously? i can bifurcate this for at least 30 steps without finding any contradictions.
and if there IS a contradiction, buried somewhere at bifurcation step 50, then the difficulty rating of 2 is completely wrong

There is no need for bifurcation at all. I presume you're missing something. If you want, you could make a hidden comment and link to a screenshot of where you're stuck, so I could give a hint, how to proceed.

If you spotted the same issue as ordnanceordinance, you were right and I was wrong. I've updated the puzzle to correct this.
