Mind Over Magnet
(Eingestellt am 19. November 2024, 23:58 Uhr von Scojo)
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
- Magnets: A magnet is a three cell long straight line (orthogonal or diagonal) consisting of a high pole, a low pole, and a central cell marked by a magnet symbol. A high pole must contain a digit higher than 5, A low pole must contain a digit lower than 5, and the central cell may contain any digit. Poles of the same type may not touch each other, even diagonally, but poles of opposite types may. Different magnets may not cross each other or share cells. The three digits on a magnet must sum to the small number in the corner of its central cell and may repeat if allowed by other rules.

As a bonus, here's a 4x4 example puzzle, which I created for the CTC discord's December 2024 monthly prompt of "Big Things In Little Grids."

Some surprising logic to be found in here; very cool.

Thank you for this beautiful and innovative puzzle, Scojo! I think you nailed the idea of the prompt with it. I gave it a brief look before, but admittedly was too lazy to adapt to the new way of thinking. Today, I watched it getting solved in Olli's stream and knew I had to come back and give it a proper try. Great construction!
