Such a splendid view of wild horse galloping through the field! Well.. You can probably see it when the fog clears.
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Horses: marked by a tilted square, there is a horse in every row, column and box. All horses are marked.
Friendly: cells containing a horse index either the row, column or box number (read in normal reading order) they're placed in. Each number assigned to a horse is unique and can't be repeated.
Anti-knight: cells a chess-knight's move away from a horse can't contain another marked horse.
Buddies: each horse must have a buddy a chess-knight's move away from it containing the same number.
Kropki dots: digits joined by a white dot are consecutive. Digits joined by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio.
Fog: the field is covered in fog. Placing correct digits will clear the fog. No guessing is required.
You can only solve the puzzle online (due to the fog mechanic).
I published a previous version of this puzzle before, but I deactivated it after some feedback. There were some wild logic steps in there that didn't have anything to do with the vision I had with this rule set and that made it randomly much harder. I streamlined it now to make it more coherent, but it also became notably easier and frankly a completely new puzzle. Hence why I seemingly repost it. Hope you enjoy it!
Love, Brigitte
Lösungscode: Row 9 from left to right (9 digits in total)

I found this one much harder than 2*, but I really enjoyed it! I think I over complicated the solve with my colouring lol, but really enjoyable none the less.

If all horses are marked, shouldn't r3c1 be marked as it matches the row number?

I also solved the previous version of this puzzle, and I agree that this one feels a lot more coherent. Also a lot easier, but still very enjoyable. Thanks!

@sort, as you find the placement of the horses, you'll likely find that they can only be a couple of digits. If you find multiple cells with the same pencil markings, you can colour-code them and then use these colours to do sudoku. Until you find a restriction that allows you to finally determine which number corresponds with which colour.
Also important to keep track of the buddies!
Hope that helps <3
