Thanks to Scojo for inspiring this puzzle, as this puzzle was set for their weekly prompt featuring "Invent a new type of clue". The prompt was initiated by Juggler.
A big thank you to Flinty for testing the puzzle and helping me with the aesthetics.

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 to 9 in each Row, Column, and 3X3 box.
Digits on the green grass have a value greater than exactly 2 of its orthogonally adjacent neighbors. No negative constraint.
Solve online: SudokuPad, SudokuPad (without the background image)
Example: The green 4 satisfies the clue since it's larger than 2 of its neighbors (1 and 3). The same goes for the other green digits.
Lösungscode: Column 3 digits from top to bottom.

This was my first puzzle rated 2 stars on here that I solved! I really liked the rule set; it felt like there was always something to focus on

Wow, that was cool! A slight bump in difficulty for the unintuitive scanning, but once found, every step is very elegant

Fun rule! Once I got in my head the "hidden" part of the rule, it started flowing really nicely. The last part was a bit difficult for me to untangle, since I only had two options I just tried one and it was the right one, but I couldn't justify it logically.

Nicely done. I found it a bit harder than advertised, but that may be unfamiliarity with the rule. That should not put people off solving the puzzle, or adopting the rule for their own. I would love to see this again and thanks for making it work so well.
