Root Equality Lines: There are lines in the grid with equals signs (=) on them.

A Root Equality Line forms an equation with cells where the value of each cell is the square root of the digit in it. The addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division signs (+×−÷ respectively), are placed along a line between the two cells it is to be placed between in the equation.

Multiplication and division take priority over addition and subtraction in equations, and are to be done first.

Subtraction and division are to be read from left to right and top to bottom. That also matches the direction along the line starting from its gray end and going to its purple end.

The styling of Root Equality Lines is split between a gray single line and a purple double line by the equals sign to help differentiate between the two sides.

Root Inequality Lines: There are lines in the grid with greater than signs (>) on them.

Similarly to Root Equality Lines, these make an inequality where the value of each cell is the square root of its digit. One side of the inequality has a bigger sum than the other as indicated.

Their styling is split between a blue single line and a green double line. The blue single line is always the smaller side of the inequality.

NOTICE: For the purposes of Root Equality and Root Inequality lines, the value of EVERY digit in the grid is the principal SQUARE ROOT of that number.
