Thank you. I'm really happy with how this puzzle turned out. Impossible if you don't find the trick and still hard after you find it :)

This took three attempts, but I'm so glad I stuck it out, because this was an exceptional puzzle!

First attempt, I got nowhere with naive case-checking. Second attempt, I noticed the parity property of the cages; but I messed up, so took a break.

During my third attempt, I remembered that I'd tret a -1 cage as a 0 cage in my second attempt; and yet, somehow I STILL managed to mess it up again by treating a 0 cage as a -1 cage. xD

Thankfully, checking all the cages uncovered my mistake, and I was able to bring my comedy of errors to an end without needing a fourth attempt.

Thank you for the wonderful puzzle!

I thought of this puzzle as almost unapproachable initially, then I read the comments, and someone said the word parity, this was a really beautiful puzzle when I realized that!

parity produced after adding and subtracting numbers is key to this puzzle

That was a nice steady challenge. Once I started asking the right questions (about parity) it flowed smoothly! Thanks for setting a puzzle with lots of arithmetic.

idk, maybe people don't like this puzzle or maybe they find the break in very hard. I could give a hint that make the puzzle a lot easier.

Very nice! Hard to get a break-in, but after getting some digits, it became smooth. Thank you
