This puzzle is for a prompt to make a puzzle based on a family member. As both of my parents are authors and avid lovers of the written word, the process of solving this puzzle is intended to evoke perusing through a library filled with books.

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits in cages do not repeat. Each cage is either full of "oil" (even digits), full of "water" (odd digits), or a mix of both. In all cases, each "row" within a cage is of just one type (oil or water). Oil floats on water, so even digits will always be in rows above odd digits in mixed cages.

Clues outside the grid are numbered rooms clues and indicate the digit that has to be placed in the Nth cell from the clue, where N is the digit in the first cell from the clue.

White dots separate consecutive digits.
