Parity 4x4s

This sudoku grid is made up of four 4x4 sudokus, each made up from exactly four of the digits 1-9.

Digits cannot repeat in any row, column, or 2x2 box.

Each 4x4 sudoku is made up entirely of odd or even digits.

Digits in a cage sum to the given number.

Orthogonally adjacent digits cannot be consecutive.

I don't know if this is something you can easily change, but sudokupad.app assumes you can only use numbers 1-8. This is relevant at least for the killer cage sum calculator, which for example then says that a two field killer cage with sum 14 can only be 6+8. I know the sums in this puzzle are easy, but I still got confused occasionally.

As with other commentators my reading of the rules left me hanging. Took longer than I'd have liked to figure it out.

A very easy puzzle if you pay attention to the rules...which I did not. Despite that, it's still an excellent puzzle.

Eventually this was very fun. As is so often the case, I didn't really read all the rules properly so this took some time.

Once I re-read them, it suddenly became smooth sailing and was very enjoyable.
