What's in the Box?
(Eingestellt am 22. August 2024, 13:56 Uhr von lmdemasi)
Regular Sudoku rules apply.
The grid is filled with lines. The lines do not branch, and where lines inersect, different colours are used to distinguish them.
Each of the nine boxes corresponds to a different one of the below nine rules. For each line in the grid, the entire line must satisfy the rules for each box it enters. For example, the line in row must 2 satisfy the rules for box 1, box 2, and box 3. A line may incidentally satisfy the rules for other boxes.
The table at the right of the grid can be used to track which rule corresponds to which box.
Between line: Digits along the line must be strictly between the values at the ends of the line.
Entropic line: every 3-cell sequence on the line contains a digit from {1,2,3}, {4,5,6} and {7,8,9}.
German Whisper line: adjacent digits on a German Whisper line must differ by at least 5.
Modular line: every 3-cell sequence on the line contains a digit from {1,4,7}, {2,5,8} and {3,6,9}.
Nabner line: No pair of digits anywhere on a nabner line differ by 0 or 1.
Region Sum line: Box borders divide region sum lines into segments with the same sum. Different region sum lines may have different sums.
Renban line: Digits along a renban line form a non-repeating consecutive sequence, in any order.
Thermometer: Digits along a thermometer increase from one end to the other. It is up to the solver to determine which end is which.
Zipper line: Digits an equal distance from the center of a zipper line sum to the central digit.

I also had the incredible honour of testing this puzzle, and what a puzzle it is; one of the best ambiguity puzzles I've ever come across.

Tricky break in - figuring out which line types work together, and with the layout. Very nice puzzle.

It was a pleasure to help with testing this! The ruleset is very cool and not nearly as intimidating as its length makes it seem. Fascinating break in and lovely flow, thank you for setting :)
