This is my fourth round puzzle from the New Rules speed setting tournament hosted by Gene on the Sudoku Skunkworks server.
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Ascending Starters: A clue outside the grid specifies the sum of the first run of ascending digits from the position of the clue (i.e. the sum from the first digit encountered until digits are no longer ascending). This may be only a single digit.
Magic Sigils: Within each 3x3 box, straight magenta line segments have the same sum.
Lösungscode: Row 1 + Column 2 (18 digits)

I have no idea whether I needed to be scribbling down algebraic equations to solve this, but that’s what happened, and I was delighted when it came together.

What a great puzzle! I loved that ascending starters constraint, I look forward to seeing more of those. Brilliant setting, thanks for sharing!
-Ascending starters has actually been around for a while. It even showed up in a Sudoku Grand Prix round this year. I did a puzzle back in January called X-scending Starters that mixed it with X-sums. -SSG

Very nice - I always enjoy the novelty of a new rule set, and this one was a lot of fun.
-I can't take credit for the rule itself (the conceit of the tournament is that the organizer provides the new rule for each round); but, I'll happily take credit for finding interesting logic with it. -SSG

Lovely combination of constraints with a good number of "oh yes" moments (which I like because it means I am learning something as I go along). Not much harder than 2 stars imho (though it may be harder without spotting how these rules work together)

Delightful puzzle. This rule set was very interesting and the puzzle was fun to solve. Felt much easier than a 4*.
