Path of Kong
(Eingestellt am 2. August 2024, 14:23 Uhr von Scojo)
This puzzle was set for the CTC Discord's June monthly puzzle prompt of "Pathfinding."
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column and 3x3 box.
- Each cell in the grid is a building. A building's height is defined by the digit it contains. King Kong has captured an innocent person in Row 1 Column 1 and is attempting to make his way to the top of the Empire State Building in Row 9 Column 9. The path he takes through the city moves orthogonally, and never touches itself, not even diagonally. King Kong can only jump to buildings that are 1 higher or 1 lower than the building he is currently on.
- Digits outside the grid give the number of buildings that could be seen from that position looking into the grid. Taller buildings hide shorter buildings.
- A circle is on King Kong's path, and the building in that cell must be taller than the buildings immediately before and after that building on the path.
- Several biplanes are attempting to shoot down King Kong. King Kong never visits cells with biplanes in them. A digit on a biplane indicates the distance to the closest building on the path in the direction the biplane is pointing.

King Kong whispers! And it was very funny to find his path through Manhattan. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this lovely puzzle.
