When preparing my math course on number theory I had this idea of cages containing congruent numbers. The puzzle however does not require any high level math knowledge, it is supposed to be a fun 1 star puzzle :-). Have fun and leave a comment.
I plan to make a whole modulo series with such ideas:
Rules
Standard sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and box.
Modulo Cages: All digits in a cages have to be congruent modulo the given number n in their top left corner. This means, that all these numbers, when you divide each of them by n, the leftover piece - the remainder- is the same for all digits in the cage.
E.g.: Digits in a n=2 cage could be 1,7,9 because all these numbers have the same remainder 1 when divided by 2. Digits in a n=6 cage could be 2, 8 because they both have the remainder 2 when divided by 6.
Digits CAN repeat in these Modulo Cages.
XV-Dominos: Cells separated by an X must sum to 10. Cells separated by a V must sum to 5. Not all Xs and Vs are necessarily given (no negative constraint).
Solution code: Row 9 left to right.
