I set out to make a snake building sudoku hybrid which was relatively approachable, as in, can be completed by someone like myself who makes a right hash of most snake building puzzles! I am pitching the 9x9 version as 2 stars, and I have also included a 6x6 version below for those who want a snack or to familiarise themselves with the rules and mechanics. Good luck!
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Snake: Starting from the green circle in R9C3 draw a snake, a one cell wide series of orthogonally connected cells that does not branch or touch itself even diagonally. The snake can't exit and re-enter the same box of the sudoku.
- Circles: All circles are part of the snake, and the digit in the circle is the number of snake cells in that 3x3 box of the sudoku. (For clarity, this refers to the 9 3x3 boxes in the grid, and this also applies to R9C3)
- Entropic Line: The snake is an entropic line. Any sequence of three digits on the snake will contain one low digit (1, 2, 3), one medium digit (4, 5, 6) and one high digit (7, 8, 9)
- Projected Snake Sums: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits on the snake in that row or column of the sudoku.

Its nice being reminded to 'pan out' your vision from time to time. Very fun puzzle.

I don't know if I missed something obvious, but it felt like 4 stars difficulty with some "looking ahead", which I guess happens easily with entropic snakes/loops. Beautiful puzzle nonetheless, thanks.

Lovely puzzle! I found it to be a 3-star difficulty but regardless it was very enjoyable.
