I know this puzzle was a while ago, but I liked your most recent one so am going back to complete others. Question: Can ONLY a 9 be followed by a 1, or can an 8-or-lower also be followed by a 1 if it crosses a region boundary?
-----------------------------
No worries, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, in this puzzle only 9 can be followed by 1. So for example if there was an 8 on the thermo, the only digit that could be placed next is a 9. Hope you enjoy :)

I did indeed! It was a easier than I expected (even given the 9-1 restriction being quite narrow), but I mean that in a good way. As in, it all just...worked: Every little deduction WAS actually important, and not just a red herring to trick you! Great puzzle!
Given you seem to be doing a fog puzzles too now, I'd be intrigued if you could make this 9-1 thermo idea in a fog puzzle!
It feels like a match of variations made in heaven, given how the fog would initially cover up how long the thermo is, meaning you'd initially be unsure if it'd stretch beyond a boundary until you cleared more fog. Which in turn means clearing the fog becomes even more important, since it gives you a clearer idea if that part of the thermo is 9-1 or just a normal 1-through-9!

Loved this. Really fun to figure out the 1s and 9s and then watching everything just come together beautifully from there.

Cool idea. Fairly easy to figure out where the switches are. Thx for sharing.
