Phistomephel is not required at all, you just have to sport the interaction of some cages and it all flows beautifully from there. I would give it 1.5 stars since without noticing those tricks it gets harder.

Very nice, lovely smooth solve. That said, since (unless I solved it wrong) an awareness of Phistomophel and of the secret seems to be necessary, so I’d say it’s hard to credit as a 1 star puzzle for me.
