I created a puzzle about a year ago which, to date, has the least solves of any of mine. But I really like the concept, so I have returned to it again.

I think the biggest issue was that the grid was littered with clues: it was confusing and intimidating.

Therefore, I have cut back on the number of rulesets and made the grid look tidier.

I hope that it gets a better showing this time round, but if not, I will put this idea to bed and move onto something else!

Rules:

• Normal sudoku rules: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
• Diagonal: Digits may not repeat along the marked diagonal.
• Renban: Cells on a pink line contain a set of non-repeating, consecutive digits, but not necessarily in order.
• The letters A-H represent a value to be determined by the solver. All values are unique.
• Cages: Digits in cages must sum to the letter in the top left corner of the cage. Digits can repeat in cages.
• Green lines are two-digit numbers (read left-to-right, or top-to-bottom), and equal the letter provided.
