PUZZLE:
RULES:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
•
German Whisper (
green): Digits along each German Whisper line must differ by at least five [5].
•
Killer: Digits within a cage must sum to the number in the top-left corner; digits do not repeat within a cage.
•
Kropki: White dots separate two cells containing consecutive digits; Black dots separate two cells where one is double the other [1:2].
•
Sandwich: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits between 1 and 9 in the indicated row or column.
INTRODUCTION:
Inspired by
Oddlyeven's recent puzzle "
Round totals reclining stucco deconstruction. (8, 7)", using a cryptic clue as the title.
...I'll be honest, the Sudoku here is entirely in service of the title but you know? Puzzles don't have to be serious all the time, in fact, sometimes they
can be fun and games.
Have fun!
P.S. I considered having the solution code being the answer to the cryptic title (since the Sudoku links contain the inputted solution regardless); it tickled my funny bone but I wasn't sure how people would feel about that. What do you think?
P.P.S If you leave a cryptic comment I will attempt to solve it and post it below.

The clues are definitely very obvious, but this feels more like an easier 2* puzzle. I enjoyed the flow, great job!

Kudos to your testers, I would also say this is certainly harder than your usual 1 star-puzzle. It tumbles at a certain point, but until then it needs attention. Good fun anyway!

I've solved 100's of 1- and 2-star puzzles on this site, and this was the hardest solve I've ever completed. 1-star? Really? I must have
missed something obvious.
---
@RussKozerski - I imagine that's been having an impact on the reception of it, too. Once the puzzle has been voted on enough the rating is outside of my control.
There was a much easier version with additional (not strictly necessary) clues that helped ease the solve path, however I got so many complaints for having those in the puzzle I reworked it to exclude them. It bumped up the difficulty but given the amount of testers it had (easier puzzles tend to attrack more testers), I think a lot of people had it in their head as a 1-star puzzle still and voted accordingly.
I find star-ratings are also impacted by the uniqueness of the logic; if it involves lots of familiar constraints, it tends to be rated lower for difficulty than it might normally be. Oh well, it's all enriched atmosphere.
Well done on the solve! Sounds like you might be ready for some additional challenges <3 -- VKP
