Normal sudoku rules apply.
Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2x2 area may be fully shaded or unshaded.
Digits in cages may not repeat and sum to the given number. In these cages, shaded digits count as positive numbers, and unshaded digits count as negative numbers. Cages with no total sum to 0.
All unshaded digits in each cage are orthogonally connected.
The digit in the gray square is even.

This took me far longer than I'd like to admit but at no point did it ever feel unfair. Lovely puzzle!

I can only agree with the other comments, I got stuck several times, but there was no particular monstrous deduction. Still quite hard for me (the almost 200 minutes it took me can prove it).
Brilliant puzzle!

I don't know if it was really hard, or if it was just me being really daft :-) I think I got stuck not finding that a certain cage had to be all one color, thinking I had deduced that it couldn't be. Once I realized, then it flowed very nicely to the end :-)

Thank you! Very nice puzzle.
I also got stuck couple of times but the deductions in fact were not that difficult. 4* seems to be adequate.
I was surprised that no total sum cage appeared to be most useful. Both times I got stuck it was indeed the place to look at.

I did so many equations in my head ! Cool puzzle by the way but very hard and stuck many times
