The universe is in trouble again and the Doctor needs your help. Will you be a worthy companion?
I will let him explain:
“Space is complicated full of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff."
So, let’s start simple.
Normal Sudoku Rules apply, place the digits 1-9 in each row, column, and box, EXCEPT one of the 5’s has been erased and replaced with a 0 due to the Flux. I can’t tell you which one, ‘spoilers’. (To be clear, to complete the puzzle you will place a 0 in a single cell as part of the solution.)
Killer Cages: digits in each cage add up to the total in the corner. Be careful ‘don’t think’.
The bit more complicated:
Thermometers: digits along a thermometer strictly increase OR decrease in value. Remember ‘don’t breathe’.
Now the really hard part:
The TARDIS needs to fly from the blue square to the other blue square through an orthogonally connected loop that does not touch itself even diagonally. Whatever you do ‘don’t blink’.
Digits on this path have negative values for all clues AND are only odd digits. This is important ‘don’t forget’.
But let’s have some fun too, it’s only the universe at stake!
River Song has left us an encoded message to encourage us! This message is “Hello Sweetie”, to decode it, you must rearrange all the letters of both words alphabetically and then assign them a number in order starting with 1. Each letter is represented by a number. Then these numbers act as a cipher to find the hidden message embedded within the puzzle. However, “Hello” has been erased and only “Sweetie" remains, it is found in a straight diagonal line in the puzzle and reads left to right. ‘Run you clever boy’!
Geronimo!!”
P.S. If you are having trouble with the cipher look at the comments below, and I will provide the key.

Actually only one word is essential in the ruleset : LOOP !

You are correct! I hope you liked it. This is my personal favorite puzzle that I have made. It was a lot of fun to think of all the ways to integrate Doctor Who references into a sudoku.

Definitely ‘good’ crazy. It could be overwhelming to people. I reckon you need to be a Dr fan just to get through reading the rule set, but that’s what got me enthused about the puzzle. It is a fun puzzle; shame more people haven’t done it.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun with coming up with the idea just for writing the rule set, let alone the puzzle itself.
Take care. Allonsy!!

“What can I do?” This puzzle is crazy. BTW you might want to check your spelling of cleaver/clever. Though the image of a crazed Dr running with a cleaver kind of suits this puzzle.

LOL! This is why they say, never edit your own work. I have looked at that countless times without catching that. Thanks!
I am hoping that by "crazy" it is the good kind and not the bad one. Given how few people have solved it, it seems I just threw too much in there and the rule set is over whelming, or there are very few Doctor Who fans.

Here is the cipher to this puzzle, especially for those of you who are not English speaking.
“Hello Sweetie” rearranged in alphabetical order is E H I L O S T W.
This means: E=1, H=2, I=3, L=4, O=5, S=6, T=7, W=8
Encoding “Hello Sweetie” as “21445 6811731”.
