Zippular Region Sums
(Published on 27. March 2024, 19:00 by gdc)
Heliopolix invented a variation of zipper lines called zippular lines that I had my eyes on for a while now and I finally found a good idea to use them. You can find more puzzles using that constraint on their page. As always, thanks to all the testers!
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- All lines act as region sum lines and zippular lines.
- Region Sum Lines: Box borders divide lines into segments with the same sum.
- Zippular lines: Each pair of digits an equal distance from the central spot on a Zippular line have the same sum modulo 3 (the remainder when the digits are summed and then divided by 3). The digit in the central spot has the same remainder when divided by 3. Different lines may have different remainders.
- For example, 46584 is a valid Zippular line, because 4+4=8, 6+8=14, and 8, 14, and 5 all have the same remainder (2) when divided by 3.

That required a lot of gymnastics for my brain. Fun puzzle. Thanks.

It's Zippular! Modular! Inter-active-odular! Its Regional! Summinal! Multi-line-magnifical!
What a delightful deviation on the lines. A gem of a puzzle, and a true delight to solve.
