Diamonds are a Killer's Best Friend
(Eingestellt am 2. Februar 2024, 16:00 Uhr von XeonRisq)
DadJokes and I decided to explore the idea of the "diamond" constraint and this is the outcome of that exploration/brainstorming.
The difficulty is a bit murky, but I would estimate this as a 3-star puzzle with a few key 4-star deductions.
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Diamonds : All diamond cells contain a friendly digit, which is a digit that matches it's row, column, or box. If a digit exists in a diamond cell, that digit may appear across all diamonds 1 or 3 times only.
- Killer Cages : Numbers cannot repeat in a cage and must sum to the given total in the top left corner.

Tough but fun. Thanks, @ XeonRisq :).

Thanks for the feedback Bankey. It's just weird logic that is combined with killer logic, but I can see it as a bit more difficult. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless.

It was fun but it didn't seem like a xeon puzzle

Still appreciate the solve.. I'll try to make my future puzzles seem more "Xeon" ;)

Took some trial and error to explore how the diamonds affected the puzzle. Fun puzzle, thanks.

Thanks for giving it a try, and of course the feedback on this new twist on a fairly simple constraint type.

Yeah, I stumbled upon it and knew I had to keep it once it crossed my lips.
