I wanted another shot at the puzzle, so I tried again. Fair warning, the solution paths do overlap somewhat.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits must increase on thermometers from the bulb end.

The clue outside the grid gives the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.

Purple lines must contain consecutive digits in any order.

The digit in the 1 position of a box indexes the 1's location in that box.
The digit in the 5 position of a box indexes the 5's location in that box.
The digit in the 9 position of a box indexes the 9's location in that box.

The positions within a box being:

7	8	9
