Neatly Squished

(Eingestellt am 6. Dezember 2023, 17:55 Uhr von marty_sears)

This is the first in my series exploring what can be done with the brilliant Squishdoku ruleset invented by Jay Dyer in November 2023.

Part 1: Neatly Squished

Part 2: Squishpers

Part 3: A Bigger Squish

Part 4: Straddle

Part 5: ???

Rules:

  • SQUISHDOKU: Place digits from 1-9 in every cell, so that no digit repeats in a row, column, or 3x3 region. The dashed lines indicate the boundaries of regions, and cells on the dashed lines are simultaneously part of the regions on both sides of the line.
  • EVEN PRODUCT DOMINOS: In this grid, any two adjacent cells multiply to give an even product.
  • KROPKI DOTS: Digits joined by a white dot are consecutive. Digits joined by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio (one is double the other.) Not all dots are necessarily given.

Brilliant puzzle. I would almost say it demonstrates parallel computing haha

Gorgeous construction! Really takes advantage of the Squished geometry. Love the minimalist grid as well.

Much easier than Jay Dyer's original but equally as enjoyable!

Really nice demonstration of Squishdoku geometry. After the initial step, hard to know exactly what to look for, but gettable.

Quite the rewarding thing to unravel - the geometry is a bit mind bending but if you can wrap your head around it, you'll feel quite satisfied by the end.

It is crazy how minimalistic the clues can be for such type puzzle which this one demonstrate the best. I hope people do more of this type of sudoku since is fun.

Cute idea! It will finish easily once you know the break-in.
