Numbered Room Operations Sandwiches

(Eingestellt am 26. November 2023, 05:04 Uhr von RockyRoer)

The Rules:

  1. Normal sudoku rules apply. Fill every row, column, and 3x3 box with the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
  2. [Numbered Room] A numbered room clue indicates the number that is x cells into the row/column from the direction of the clue where x is the digit in the cell next to the clue. The numbered room clues must be deduced.
    • Ex: in the row 317892456, there would be a 7 to the left of the row, and an 8 to the right of the row.
  3. [Sandwich] A sandwich clue indicates the sum of the digits sandwiched between the 1 and 9 in that row or column. The sandwich totals must be deduced.
    • For example, in the row 317892456, the sandwich sum would be 7+8 = 15.
  4. [Operations] Symbols outside the grid indicate how the Numbered Room clues for that row/column can be calculated to produce the Sandwich clue for that row/column. Not all clues are necessarily given. If more than one symbol is shown for a row or column, they must both be true.
    • Example: In this puzzle, a row 317892456 could be clued with a +, because the numbered room clues of 7 and 8 can sum to the sandwich sum 15.

The Puzzle: Try it on CTC's sudoku pad. or at or try this one with room to type outside clues. (no promises answer check works though...)

Lösungscode: Row 4 from left to right

I too found the outside grid helpful, and the good news is that the answer check works!

Very smooth once you get your head around the rules. I found the second grid very helpful to keep track of everything. Thank you

Really nice combination of constraints. Not too hard on the arithmetic front so don't let that dissuade you, potential solvers
