Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits may not repeat within a cage. Cage clues show the sum of the digits in the cage plus the sum of all digits that aren't in any cage. A '>' between two cells points to the smaller digit.
For example, if the digits 1, 2, and 3 are always placed outside of cages, and all other digits appear in a cage at least once, then all cages have 6 (=1+2+3) added to their total.

Amazing at every step! Even the inequality signs were more than just simple disambiguators.

I registered an account just to compliment you on your puzzle. It took me ages to understand how to approach it, but I finally got the solution. Very well made. Really nice break-in and enjoyed how you needed to think about every cage at some point in the puzzle to find the solution.
@shye the rules mean that there are x distinct digits not in any cage in the puzzle and the cage total is the sum of digits in the cage and the sum of the x distinct digits not in any cage.

cant make sense of the rules, wouldnt each cage have to be at least 156?

Fantastically cool execution for such a funny concept on killer variant, from the restriction of missing digits to the actual breakthrough and then to the very satisfying solve later on (heck, even the inequality signs worked well in here)! Enjoyed this one greatly! :)

Incredible break-in, then still a great but far from easy normal killer once you've worked out the true cage totals.
