Mafia (Chaos Construction)

I haven't posted a sudoku in a while, so I thought I'd have another go at one of my favourite sudoku variants. In some ways I'm viewing this as a sequel to "Primal Instinct", my other puzzle with unclued cages. I hope you enjoy! Based on tester feedback it should be on the lower end of 4-stars.
Rules
- Normal Chaos Construction rules apply. Each row, each column and each region must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each. Regions are orthogonally connected and must be determined by the solver.
- Each cage must be entirely contained within a region. Cages in the same region must have the same sum. Cages in different regions must have different sums.

Super elegante Konstruktion, so ganz ohne Zahlenvorgabe! Toll, wie diese ganzen Regeln immer wieder andere Ideen ermöglichen, wie man dem Chaos auf die Spur kommen kann. Super Ding, vielen Dank!

would have been much easier if I'd read the rules and didn't gloss over the *must have different sums* part, haha. Very smooth after I realized my error though!

4-star Chaos Construction by Agent are among my favorite adjectives for puzzles ever. I dropped everything I was doing to do this puzzle and I was not disappointed!

Great construction! Solves very elegently, although I did a silly oversight and broke the puzzle right out of the opening the first two times that I tried it.

Instant classic warning inbound. Perfect combination of being challenging throughout, but constantly making progress so I never felt stuck or stumped.

Very challenging but very satisfying. The sample puzzle was very helpful in getting a foothold. I am amazed at how I was almost always able to make some gradual progress.

What a beautiful beautiful puzzle! Such intricate logic, yet so smooth! It is quite stunning to see the puzzle reveal its secrets with every tiny deduction but only ever so slowly. Agent is an artist and has created yet another masterpiece. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Look forward to Simon solving this puzzle on CtC to see if my solve path was the intended one or not.

A really terrific puzzle overall! The arithmetic interplays in here worked wonders throughout, though I was getting slower towards the ending but even the ending was quite a miracle by itself :)
