Creepy Duality

(Eingestellt am 10. Oktober 2023, 21:49 Uhr von Kalorienreduziert)

Normal Sudoku Rules partially apply: Digits don't repeat within a row, column or box.

Yin-Yang rules apply: All cells are either shaded or unshaded. All shaded cells have to be orthogonally connected. All unshaded cells have to be orthogonally connected, as well. No 2x2-region may be completely covered by shaded cells, or completely covered by unshaded cells.

Shaded cells are empty, that means there are no digits within them. The unshaded area consists of clumps of orthogonally connected cells. Digits within a clump sum up to 10 and do not repeat within that clump.

Grey cells are shaded cells. Cells with a blue square contain a digit which counts the amount of shaded cells within the up to 8 surrounding cells. Cells with a yellow circle contain a digit which counts the amount of clumps within the up to 8 surrounding cells.

Within this puzzle there are only used 6 of the digits from 1-9, the solver has to determine which ones.

The puzzle is available online via F-Puzzles. Have fun solving!

I'm not very certain about the difficulty since it's a completely new combination of rules. Have fun solving!

Lösungscode: Column 8 (top to bottom, empty cells are represented as 0s)

Great puzzle, thank you!
Solution path felt fair and logical, did not require any bifurcation or excessive "case study"

At one point in the rules I wrote "unshaded" in the place of "shaded", now that is corrected

Wow! A great one. At some point had a slight of feeling of going into guessing, but still the logic is definitely in place.

Kalorienreduziert: Happy to hear! I am working on another puzzle with a ruleset like that, where the next step is always easier to see, so there's nothing anyone would call guessing/bifurcation. So look out for that!
