This is definitely the hardest puzzle I've set so far, and it was also the hardest to set. Once I had the idea I was able to find a unique puzzle fairly quickly, but it's another matter to find a unique and *fun* puzzle. This puzzle isn't exactly easy but I think the solve path is pretty smooth given the constraints. Hope you enjoy it!
Rules:
Chaos construction: place the digits from 1-9 in each cell such that digits don't repeat in any row, column, or region. Regions are groups of 9 orthogonally connected cells that must be determined by the solver.
Japanese sums: clues outside the grid give the sum of all the digits in a contiguous stretch of cells that are in the same region (ending either at the edge of the grid or a different region). A ? specifies a sum less than 10, and a ?? specifies a sum greater than or equal to 10. All clues are given and in the correct order.
Lösungscode: Column 1 followed by row 8

Sadly, after nearly 5 hours of trying, I concluded that with my setup it is impossible to solve and I dont see any other setups. Truly a shame, because until this point i had great fun trying to solve.

There's no single deduction that warrants a 5-star rating, this is like a bajillion 3-star-ish deductions chained together repeatedly hitting the solver in the noggin. 275 minutes, regretted none of it

building the regions was a ton of fun and flowed really well. i'm sure i missed some logic on the sudoku part afterwards because it was a slog for me to finish it from there. just lots of places to look and difficult to scan the grid, at least for me. anyways, great puzzle!

Thanks! Yeah, in retrospect the solve path isn't as interesting as I'd like on this one. There's not a huge variety of deductions, and involves a lot of diligent pencil marking. There's a way through that's not too long, but it's not easy to spot, so I think "slog" is a fair description. A lot of the coolness of this puzzle is just from the fact that it's possible, rather than insights you have while solving. I think my puzzles after this have gotten a lot better in that respect.

I'm again (after the testing phase on Discord) surprised how many people have managed to solve this incredible and incredibly hard puzzle in such a short time.

This is interesting and very very insane! The sudoku part is just brutal! I bet this puzzle will be featured in CTC with a movie-length video because it is just so good!

The sheer amount of miracles happening in this puzzle is just wildly impressive, but this one should also come with a warning that it's really not for the faint of heart.
A very interesting first half with how region buildings are done, but the later half was full of concentration till the very end, where every single cell was important and not one single clue was missed out at the end. Absolutely mad, yet wonderfully cool puzzle overall :O

Ridiculous that this exists. Very brutal mid solve but that's the price for keeping the miracle intact :)

Very fun puzzle! Smooth region building, and tricky but fair irregular logic which I always love :)

Great puzzle! The region building was already interesting, but filling the sudoku was mindbending. Thank you.

This is my first time doing a Japanese sums puzzle. The chaos construction in the front did not block me for too long, while the total amount of Japanese sums in the back blocked me for a few hours.I think I'm not very proficient yet. Overall, I feel pretty good about it. That's a really good puuzle. Thank you!
