Walking with my 6-year-old we found a Sassafras tree -- common here in Michigan. Her friends call them 'ghost leaves' but I can tell them by their leaves of distinctively 1, 2, or 3 lobes each. So, here's a puzzle where all the 1's, 2's, and 3's are given, but not really. Have fun! Should be 1, 2, or most likely 3-star difficulty. (Ok, maybe four... depending on your comfort level with outies and sandwiches...)

undeniably brilliant. the fact that you pretty much have to make a paper list of sandwich/totals/outies indicates that 3 is a fair difficulty rating

Brilliant puzzle! Don't think it is hard. It is at most 2/5 difficulties for me.
