Archaeology (Nonconsecutive arrow sudoku)

(Published on 4. September 2023, 13:45 by Qodec)

Digging through my archives I found this puzzle that I made as a result of Phistomefel's challenge more than 2 years ago to construct a nonconsecutive arrow.

  • Sudoku: Each row, column, and region indicated by thick borders in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Arrows: Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in its circle. Digits may repeat on an arrow if allowed by other rules.
  • Nonconsecutive: Orthogonally adjacent cells cannot contain consecutive digits.

You can play this puzzle online using:

Hope you'll enjoy!

Solution code: Row 9 and column 9. I.e. the 9 digits in row 9 from left to right, followed by the 9 digits in column 9 from top to bottom, for example: 123456789123456789

Glad you found this in the archives and released it aftervall this time. Cause this puzzle is really good!

Beginning is quite interesting, and afterwards still quite hard with absolute milking of the non consecutive constraint. Insane how this consteaint can fix so much of the grid.

I really like how the non-con was utilized throughout the first half of the solve, very cool and amusing puzzle :)
