Orla

(Eingestellt am 2. September 2023, 01:34 Uhr von ThePedallingPianist)

Today is the baby shower for my first child, Orla, and I wanted to celebrate with a little puzzle for her. The "AS" in the grid refers to my fiancée's and my first initials respectively.

Fill every yellow cell with the digits 1-5 such that a digit does not repeat in a row, column or region (each letter is a region, and the 'O' and 'A' have been split in two with a horizontal line). Black cells contain no digits.

Region Sums: digits on a blue line have an equal sum N within each box through which the line passes.

Arrows: the digits on an arrow sum to the number in the attached pill, which is to be read as a two-digit number in decimal. An arrow may not visit the same cell twice.

(To confirm, the ambiguity of the second arrow is intentional!)

Lösungscode: Orla's expected birth month/year (separated by a slash: e.g. "03/24" for March 2024). There's a hint in the arrow pills...!

Some unusual deductions for a 'small' puzzle here, and I had lots of fun at the end! Congrats to your first child! :)

Congrats! Where does the second arrow go through exactly?

Thank you! That's a very good question... I've just edited the puzzle description to clarify that the ambiguity is intended and the solver should determine it!
