Lockout Lines turned 2 years on August 12th! Happy (a little late) birthday! When Nala noticed that there was reason to celebrate, she happily picked the best gift she could find and was on her way to the party immediately. Will the Lockout Lines like her gift?
Normal Sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column and box exactly once each.
All lines are lockout lines. Digits along a lockout line must not be equal to or between the digits on the diamond ends of the line, which have a difference of at least 4. Each line has at least one line segment between it's endpoints. Each line also has its own color. Lines of the same color are connected.
Digits in killer cages sum to the number in the top left corner and cannot repeat within their cage. Each killer cage has its own color. Cages of the same color are connected.
Additionally the grid is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digits will clear the fog from surrounding cells, possibly revealing more clues.

I'm rating this 3 stars because it took me 46 minutes to complete, but it's definitely on the easy side for a 3-star puzzle. There were a few moments where I didn't know how to proceed, but I was never stuck for more than a minute or two. Those 46 minutes went by in a flash!

Like many others here, it's also my first time doing a puzzle with a lockout line, which is basically like an inverse between line. Very nice solve path and it definitely took some thought to work out where lines and endpoints are. Excellent puzzle!

I've been working my way through the Nala series, and have really enjoyed them all so far! This one was probably the toughest for me to date, as it's been a while since I've thought about lockout lines. That didn't make it any less enjoyable, as the logic flowed well with a few twists and turns (like the titular serpentine streamers). Thank you Sandra (and Nala)!

@Ratfinkz No dog is ever fed enough, at least from the dogs point of view.
Great puzzle but definitely 3/5 stars for me

Sandra! If Nala is needing to eat her gift on the way to the party you are obviously not feeding her enough! Poor Nala! :D
lovely puzzle as ever x

I'm in the process of solving all the SandraNala puzzles, this was my favorite one so far. Messed up the first solve a couple of days ago, came back with a fresh head and had a blast. This has been my favorite in the series so far, it was an honour to solve it :)!
Sandra here! Aww thank you so much for sticking with me and Nala and for the lovely feedback! Feels good to hear that you enjoyed my puzzle ^_^

Another excellent puzzle!
I was a bit confused by the statement that "Each line has at least one line segment between it's endpoints". That would be true even if the ends were in adjacent cells joined by a line. I assumed that you meant each line has at least one non-end cell between its endpoints.
Sandra here. Thank you for sticking with Nala’s Adventures! Glad to hear you enjoy the puzzles. Your assumption is correct. Noted that I could have written that more clearly!

Absolutely amazing! I've never heard of lockout lines before and this was a very fun introduction :) Congrats Sandra and Nala on another amazing puzzle.

great puzzle, but definitely not a 2/5 difficulty. Just the fact that it uses lockout lines makes it at least 3, and add fog, and other complicating factors ...
Sandra here: thank you for the feedback! Happy to hear that you enjoyed it!The puzzle is jumping between 2 and 3* from user ratings. Let’s see where it will eventually settle down:)

never come across lock out lines before so a FOW probably wasn't the best place to attempt them when you can't see whats going on. Once I watched some youtube videos on what they are and how they work, I was off! quite straight forward but complex when you've never come across the rule set and can't see a full line to picture them. Interesting little lines them :)

It took me at least 15 minutes to wrap my head around the lockout lines and not confuse them with between lines. Amazing puzzle as always! I absolutely love this series!

I got horribly confused by one of the lines, but eventually realized that I was wrong and the puzzle was right! Thank you for such fun puzzles
