Fibonacci Twisters

(Eingestellt am 28. Mai 2023, 15:52 Uhr von kieserel)

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply. Grey lines are Fibonacci lines. The first two digits at the beginning of the Fibonacci line can be anything, every successive digit has to be the sum of the previous two. For example, this would be a valid Fibonacci line of length 4: 3,2,5,7. The solver must determine the lines' ends and beginnings.

PS: It's been pointed out to me, that these are not really Fibonacci sequences. These are constant-recursive sequences of order 2. The closest generalization with a nice name I know is Lukas sequences, and they are far too general. Although I stand corrected, the name of the puzzle remains, since Lukas Twisters or Constant-Recursive Twisters of order 2 do not sound nearly as good as Fibonacci Twisters.

Took a bit of thinking to see how the lines worked, but super smooth solve after that. Everything fell into place instantly.

OK I'm clearly missing something - as far as I can tell, a 5-cell line without repetition must be 1,2,3,5,8...unless two-digit numbers are allowed? Otherwise I can't see any way of completing the puzzle? Help greatly appreciated!

Answer: First two numbers can be anything. You can start with 2 and 1, for example: 2, 1, 3, 4, 7,

- (edit) I now see how that can work! Thanks so much for the prompt response :)

Took me a while to see how to things could add up, then it was still a little challenging. Nice puzzle!

The break-in was simple and yet very clever! Thanks.

It took me a few minutes to understand the restrictions, but flowed very nicely one broken into. Lovely puzzle.

As a math professor I really enjoyed the puzzle from start to finish. Even though I did force a bit the start but didn't see a clever way. After that did go very smoothly.
