A new hybrid, after an idea of Piatato, and so dedicated to him, that uses his 'Coordinate Arrows' ruleset (or in fact, Aaronomys's, by Piatato's own admission :-) dopplperschg doppltrgy

Many thanks to polar and feethy for testing!

COORDINATE ARROWS
Digits on an arrow spell out the coordinates for the digit that is their sum. The row number is written on the start of the arrow, the column number is written on the arrow tip. If for example an arrow looks like this: -1 4-> then there must be a 5 in r1c4. All the arrows must correspond to different coordinates. Digits may repeat on an arrow if allowed by other rules
***NOTE***: In box 5, all arrows are originating FROM R5C5; there are no arrows pointing from adjacent cells TO R5C5 (thanks wullemuus for the clarification!)

SKYSCRAPERS (row 0 and column 0)
Imagine the digits in the grid as skyscrapers with heights corresponding to their values. Numbers outside the grid show how many digits that can be seen in the corresponding row/column. Taller buildings hide shorter buildings. For the purpose of skyscraper counting, the digit 0 is null (does not count as a skyscraper). None of the actual numbers, if any, are given. They would need to be deduced by the solver

DOPPELGANGER
– Every row, column, and box contains the digit 0 always, as well as eight out of the nine digits from 1 to 9 (ie, it's missing one digit that is not 0)
– No two row, no two column, and no two box may be missing the same digit
– For each 0 in the grid, the digits missing in its row, its column, and its box must be three different digits
*** Also, note that a zero always acts as itself (ie, the lowest possible value), regardless of what digits it's replacing in its box, row and column

INEQUALITY
The inequality symbol points to the smaller digit of the domino it covers

SOLVING LINKS (no solution check)
Solve on Penpa – with tracking cells
Solve on Penpa – main grid only
Solve on the CTC app* – with tracking cells
Solve on the CTC app* – main grid only
*: Note that the Skyscraper cells will clash with the digits in the main grid if the conflict checker is on. My suggestion is to use center pencilmarks for the Skyscrapers

Lösungscode: Column 7 of the main grid (9 digits)

Great puzzle!
Lots of interesting logic combining the skyscrapers and arrows, along with the doppelganger rules.
Not to tricky with sufficient note-taking either.

Thank you so much for the solve and kind words, much appreciated as always! For sure, I imagine that after your most impressive effort with A Map to Distant Lands, you were primed for this one quite well hehe. Glad you enjoyed :D

Fixed the Skyscrapers cells to make them editable again in Sudokupad

Full of confidence having solved Explorer’s Guild twice… I finally got there! Such a lovely puzzle - no let up in difficulty, really clever use of the negative restraints on the arrows, and LOADS of satisfying ‘aha’ moments. The skyscraper cells aren’t editable in the CTC link but I managed anyway. Very proud to have got there with this one, thanks for sharing it :)
..............
Oh, congrats! But I knew you'd prevail :-) And double congrats even, cause the skyscraper cells *were* meant to be editable, and they were originally, I'm sure, so a Sudokupad edit must have changed it at some point. So thanks for alerting me of this -- I went and created new links with just a small extra detail that fixes it. Anyway, always a pleasure to see your progression through the catalogue! :D

Lovely puzzle! That's my first Doppelganger ever solved and it also marks the begining of a new passion. Thanks for setting it!

This time all went smoothly step by step (the correction is also valid for the 3-digit arrows in box 2 and 9). It's such a pleasure to work in so many layers at the same time! Waiting for real 3-digit double arrows ;D ... .
............
Ah, I'm glad to hear it went smoothly and it was enjoyable, as for sure it can be easy to make hard to detect mistakes with all the layers in this one, so well done once again! (and thanks again for the clarification!)

I do have other ideas for Doppelganger puzzles, you can be sure! As for this one though, it pretty much pushed me to my limit lol -- But hey, that could be another challenge, I'll think about it! -- Anyhow, huge thanks for YET another special solve :D

Just for clarification: In box 5 are there 3 double arrows or 6 single arrows?
............
Both are valid ways to see it I'd say. So in total, there's 7 different arrows all originating from r5c5. -- I'm quite happy to see you want to tackle this one as well, thank you so much yet again!
***EDIT***: I can see now want you meant by 'double arrows', and how it could be thought that say, there could be an arrow pointing from R6C4 to R5C5, but no, all arrows are originating from R5C5 only!! Sorry for that confusion! :-/

Very nice! The rulesets work together in such a fun manner, creating a truly special experience! Thanks so much for the dedication of such a joyful puzzle! :-D
...............
Thank you so much for your solve and comment, I am thrilled that you enjoyed it! I certainly had fun setting it, as indeed the two rulesets work really well together -- props to you and Aaronomys for having created that amazing CA ruleset :D

Nice break in which makes for a deceiving smooth start. After that, the puzzle remains challenging till the last coordinate has been found. Nice. Thanks.
