Rotational Pairs is a relatively new constraint invented by sirxemic and Raumplaner that debuted on LMD in their collaboration puzzle, Rotational Pairs, named after the constraint itself. I think this constraint is really interesting and I wanted to try setting my own puzzle using Rotational Pairs. I'm quite happy with how this puzzle turned out in the end as it requires some interesting deductions unique to the Rotational Pairs constraint. The forced pairing between digits allows for some really fun and unusual logic, so I hope Rotational Pairs becomes a more mainstream variant. I was aiming for a 3-star difficulty when I set this puzzle, but all of my testers judge it to be only 2 stars. As I have been known to overestimate difficulty in the past, I decided to go with their consensus and publish this as a 2-star puzzle, but we will see if the LMD community agrees :) Either way, I hope you enjoy my latest puzzle, Misalignment!
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Killer Cages: Digits in cages do not repeat and sum to the small clue in the corner of the cage.
Rotational Pairs: Each of the digits 1-9 has a partner digit except the digit in the center of the grid (r5c5). If the grid is rotated 180°, all digits map exclusively onto their partner digit, with the center digit always mapping onto itself. Which digits are partnered must be determined by the solver.
Lösungscode: Column 3 followed by column 7 (18 digits, no spaces)

Easy start, tricky middle and once the cages are complete it is plain sailing. Very enjoyable 20 minutes.
