Order and Chaos
(Published on 7. April 2023, 03:44 by Scojo)
These puzzles were originally set in September 2022 for the Cracking the Cryptic Discord's monthly prompt of "Yin and Yang."
Order Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Digits along the white "therm-bans" must increase consecutively from bulb to tip.
- Digits may not repeat along either of the two marked diagonals.
- Every digit Y in the central box must contain the value 10-X, where X is the digit in the same position in the puzzle "Chaos".
Solve Order in CTC or f-puzzles
Chaos Rules:
- Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column, and 9 cell orthogonally connected region. One region is given, the other eight must be determined.
- Cells that are a knight's move or a king's move apart may not contain the same digit.
- A digit in a circle indicates how many of that cell's sides are part of a border between regions. Edges of the grid do not contribute to this count. All circles are given.
- A digit in a square indicates how many of the (up to) 9 cells in the 3x3 area centered on that cell are in the same region as it, including itself. All squares are given.
- Every digit X in the given central box must contain the value 10-Y, where Y is the digit in the same position in the puzzle "Order".
Solve Chaos in CTC or f-puzzles

I found this really difficult, but perhaps because I misread the Order rules, and thought it was regular thermos... So was completely stuck there but manage to solve the Chaos anyway (which was hard work). But it was fun! :)
