PUZZLE:

INTRODUCTION:

It's so easy for innovative rule-sets to get lost in the weeds and then forgotten. I asked around for some people's all time favourite puzzles and I was directed to Angelo's stunning puzzle, entitled "Genetics". There were a few follow-ups, notably Wheat, Oats and Poppy by jcgodart which was a wonderful sequel but there haven't been nearly enough of these puzzles since then. This is my spin on the rule-set, adding Schrödinger cells as a way of introducing the idea of multiple chromosomes.

Some examples will follow to help illustrate the genetic rule.

Have fun!

RULES:

"Normal" Schrödinger rules apply.
(e.g. place the digits 0 through 9 once each in every row, column, and box;
two of the digits will have to share a Schrödinger Cell;
each row, column and box contains exactly one Schrödinger Cell).

Genetics: Each digit (with the exception of 0) has two properties.
The first property is being odd or even.
The second property is being low (1,2,3), medium (4,5,6) or high (7,8,9).
The digit 0 does not possess either of these properties.

a) Each cell that is directly connected to two cells via green line in the row above is considered a 'child' of those two cells (the 'parents').
b) Each child can be formed by taking a property of one parent digit and taking the other property from a different parent digit.
c) A Schrödinger cell must not possess a 0-digit.
d) A Schrödinger cell may contribute one or both digits towards parentage.
e) A Schrödinger cell must receive valid parentage for both digits, if a child cell.
f) A cell without two valid parents will result in a 0-digit
[Note: a Schrödinger cell and a 0-digit could result in a normal digit].

X/Y: Cells connected by an X sum to 10; cells connected by a Y sum to 15.
[Note: a Schrödinger cell will contribute the value of both digits].

Solve in f-puzzles!
Solve in SudokuPad!

Note: When using f-puzzle, I recommend leaving a cell empty but with a certain color to represent 0; when using SudokuPad, to enable answer-check at the end, only enter the lowest digit of the Schrödinger Cell.

Lösungscode: The digits along Row 3, read left-to-right (lowest then highest digit for Schrödinger cells).

This was fun, and though it was intimidating at first glance, deductions kept coming after a bit of reflection. For those like me who haven't met with the Genetics variant, it's probably worth starting with Angelo's puzzle before tackling this one with Schrödinger cells added to it. Thanks for setting this, and I hope more people give it a try.
