Logic Masters Deutschland e.V.

Losing a loved one is always hard. We lost my brother-in-law, and close friend, to aggressive liver and stomach cancer on December 12, 2021. I find that the organized chaos of the Sudoku grid can be therapeutic, so I made this puzzle in his honour. It is only 1/5 difficulty (maybe 2), but satisfying to solve. I want many to try it to honour him and raise awareness for cancer research. See below for significance of the clues. Cancer sucks.

Digits in a cage must sum to the number in the top left corner of the cage and cannot repeat within the cage.

Numbers outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal. Digits are allowed to repeat if allowed by the other rules.

The cages are in the shape of a J as his name was Jeff. He loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, whose team colour is blue. They are an NHL hockey team. His favourite players were Auston Matthew (#34), Mitch Marner (#16) and Mats Sundin (#13). His was 41 years old when he passed away. All those numbers are incorporated in the puzzle.
