- Normal irregular 8x8 sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and region has to contain the digits from 1 to 8.
- Thermometer: Along a thermometer digits increase from the bulb end.
- Palindrome: Digits on a gray line form a palindrome, i.e. they read the same forward and backward.
CLARIFICATION: The right palindrome begins in the tip of the thermometer in R6C8.
- X: Digits joined by an X sum to 10. (Not all X are given.)
Here you can solve the puzzle online:
Solution code: Row 4 followed by Column 2, from left to right resp. from top to bottom (16 digits in total)

Fun colouring exercise (and thanks for the clarification on the overlap). Note to self: 8x8 doesn't contain 9s.

Thank you for commenting, MattYDdraig! I am glad you had fun colouring. Putting 9s in 8x8s (or smaller grids) is a classic, I could not tell how often I have done it myself. I hope it did not hold you off too badly.
Kind regards, sujoyku
