"Room 159"
RULES:
- Normal Sudoku: Every row, column and 3x3 box must contain all the digits 1 to 9.
- 159: Digits in the first, fifth and ninth columns give the position of the 1, 5 and 9 respectively in their rows (e.g. if r4c1 is a 6, then r4c6 must be a 1).
- Killer: Digits in cages must sum to the number in the corner (if given). Digits cannot repeat within a cage.
- Numbered Room Candidates: A "159" outside the grid represents a Numbered Room clue that is either a 1, 5 or 9 (a Numbered Room clue gives the Nth digit in the indicated row or column from the indicated direction, where N is the first digit in that row or column). For instance, if r9c7 is a 4, then r6c7 must be either 1, 5 or 9.
Try it here:
Solution code: Row 5 (left to right), then column 4 (top to bottom), 18 digits, no spaces (e.g. 123456789123748569)
